BK PRECISION 8500   Description / Specification:
BK PRECISION 8500 30A 300W Single Input Electronic Load

The BK Precision 8500 300 W Programmable DC Electronic Load can be used for testing and evaluating a variety of DC power sources. It's wide operating ranges of up to 120 V and 30 A, flexible operating modes and excellent measurement accuracy make the 8500 well suited for characterizing DC Power supplies, DC-DC Converters, batteries, fuel cells and solar cells. The loads can operate in CC, CV, CR or CP mode while voltage/current or resistance/power values are measured and displayed in real time. Load terminals are isolated and floating. Extensive protection, including over temperature, over power, over voltage, over current and reverse polarity will help protect your valuable prototype. The DC loads are easy to use. All parameters can be set quickly and precisely from the front panel, or programmed via RS232 (included) or USB (optional) interfaces. Specifications. Input rating Voltage: 0 to 120 V. Input rating Current: 0 to 30 A. CV Mode Regulation Range: 0.1 to 18 V (Accuracy ±(0.05%+0.02% FS), Resolution 1 mV), 0.1 V to 120 (Accuracy ±(0.05%+0.025% FS), Resolution 10 mV). Available Gain
Available Gain is the ratio, at a specific frequency, of power available from the output to the power in from the source.

Decibel (dB)
A unit of measurement of power which indicates relative power. A -10 dB means a reduction in power by 10 times, -20 dB means another 10 times or 100 times overall, -30 means another 10 times or 1000 times overall and so on.

Mismatch Uncertainty
Mismatch Uncertainty is caused by re-reflections between one device (the source) and the device that follows it (the load).

Pulse Power
Pulse Power, the energy transfer rate is averaged over the pulse width. Pulse width is considered to be the time between the 50 percent risetime/falltime amplitude points. Pulse power averages out any aberrations in the pulse envelope such as overshoot or ringing.
