   ANRITSU MS2724B   Description / Specification:
ANRITSU MS2724B 20 GHz Handheld Spectrum / Base Station Analyzer

The Anritsu MS2724B 20 GHz Handheld Spectrum Analyzer / Base Station Analyzer has very wide dynamic range, allowing measurement of very small signals in the presence of much larger signals. These pictures show a measurement of a –114 dBm signal with and without the presence of a –22 dBm signal only 20 kHz away. The input attenuation value can be tied to the reference level, reducing the number of parameters a field technician may have to set. The RBW/VBW and the span/RBW ratios can be set to values that are best for the measurements being made, further easing the technician’s burden and reducing the chances of errors. Over 1000 traces with names up to 40 characters long may be saved in the 256 MB non-volatile compact flash memory. These traces can later be copied into a PC using the built-in USB 2.0 connector or the 10/100 Mbit Ethernet connection. Measurements may also be saved directly to Compact Flash or USB Flash Drive. Specifications. Spectrum/Interference Analyzer Frequency Range: 9 kHz to 20 GHz. Tuning Resolution: 1 Hz. 1 Hz to 3 MHz RBW Range. dBc
dBc (decibels relative to the carrier) is the power ratio of a signal to a carrier signal, expressed in decibels. If the dBc figure is positive, then the relative signal strength is greater than the carrier signal strength. If the dBc figure is negative, then the relative signal strength is less than carrier signal strength.

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Spurious Signals
Spurious signals are undesired signals. They can be considered in two classes. They can be stationary; their frequency and amplitude do not change significantly, or non-stationary, where the frequency and/or amplitude change significantly over short time periods.
