The Newport’s 2550P-FP Degree-Of-Polarization (DOP) measurement system integrates a polarization controller, an optical polarization detection circuit, and a microprocessor based electronic control circuit The 2550P series uses a proprietary measurement scheme that is independent of optical wavelength, bandwidth of the optical source, and degree of polarization of the optical source. It is an ideal tool for CW or quasi-CW laser characterization, optical network monitoring applications, and light source and optical component characterization. The DOP meter can measure not only the DOP value, but also the optical signal-to-noise-ratio (OSNR) and noise figure (NF) simultaneously. Specifications. Operating wavelength: 1260 to1650 nm.
