The JDSU MAPL+11T1FA MAP Tunable Laser Cassette is an external cavity tunable diode laser that offers exceptional speed, accuracy and flexibility at a competitive price, making it the ideal source for advanced fiberoptic systems and component testing. The wide wavelength range enables testing over the entire CL-band range with a single source, while its high speed,mode hop free sweeping not only reduces testing time, but permits in process testing and alignment of components during manufacturing.The auto calibration feature enables the laser to quickly verify the accuracy of its wavelength calibration, and recalibrate itself if needed, reducing laser down time for manual checks and calibrations. As with all MAP cassettes, it may be seamlessly integrated with the extensive family of MAP cassettes, which enables complete custom solutions to be rapidly assembled and expanded as needed.. Polarization Dependent Loss is the difference between the maximum and minimum values of loss due to the variation of the polarization states of light propagating through a device. PDL is expressed in decibels. Calculated by; PDL = 10 log10 (Ep/Es), where EP and ES are the measured diffraction efficiencies for P- and S-plane polarized incident light, respectively.

Return Loss (RL)
Return Loss (RL) is the ratio of the incident power to the reflected power expressed in dB. RL = 10log (Pin/Pback)

Wavelength Resolution
Wavelength Resolution is the smallest possible displayed wavelength increment/decrement.
