   ROHDE & SCHWARZ FSP38 (1164.4391.38)   Description / Specification:
ROHDE & SCHWARZ FSP38 40 GHz Portable Spectrum Analyzer

The Rohde & Schwarz FSP-38 40 GHz spectrum analyzer is a wide band, very sensitive receiver. It works on the principle of "super-heterodyne receiver" to convert higher frequencies (normally ranging up to several 10s of GHz) to measurable quantities. The received frequency spectrum is slowly swept through a range of pre-selected frequencies, converting the selected frequency to a measurable DC level (usually logarithmic scale), and displaying the same on the CRT of the Rohde & Schwarz FSP-38. The CRT displays received signal strength (y-axis) against frequency ( x-axis). Specifications. Frequency range: 9 kHz to 40 GHz. Frequency resolution: 0.01 Hz. External reference frequency: 10 MHz. Frequency display: with marker or frequency counter. Resolution bandwidths: 10 Hz to 10 MHz (-3 dB) in 1-, 3- steps. EMI-Bandwidths: 200 Hz, 9 kHz, 120 kHz (-6 dB). Sweep time Span = 10 Hz: 2.5 ms to 16000 s. Display range: displayed average noise level to 30 dBm. Displayed average noise level: (0-dB RF attenuation, RBW 100 Hz, VBW 1 Hz, 20 averages, trace average, span 0 Hz, termination 50 Ohm. RF input: Testportsystem, N female and K female, 50 Ohm. Channel filters from 100 Hz to 5 MHz and RRC filters FFT filters from 1Hz to 30 kHz EMI bandwidths and quasi-peak detector Total measurement uncertainty 0.5 dB Measurement routines for TOI, ACP(R), OBW, CCDF, APD, etc. as standard CCDF (Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function) analysis. Incorporates a high speed statistical analysis of spread spectrum and frequency agile applications Fast ACP in time domain Up to 80 measurements per second (including trace transfer via GPIB) Electronic attenuator Direct Phase Noise Measurement Windows PC Compatible Features: PC-compatible screenshots, no conversion software needed Windows printer support USB interface for connecting PC peripherals LabWindows driver LabView driver SCPI-compatible R&S FSE/FSIQ-compatible GPIB command set Agilent 856x series Spectrum Analyzer Emulation Compatible with IEEE-488 programs written for Agilent 856x series.

*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the ROHDE & SCHWARZ FSP38. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Channel Bandwidth
Channel Bandwidth is the bandwidth over which power is measured. This is usually the bandwidth in which almost all of the power of a signal is contained.

Mismatch Uncertainty
Mismatch Uncertainty is caused by re-reflections between one device (the source) and the device that follows it (the load).

Rise Time
Rise time refers to the time required for a signal to change from a specified low value to a specified high value, usually 10 and 90 percent of pulse-top amplitude (vertical display is linear power).
