   KEITHLEY 6517B   Description / Specification:
KEITHLEY 6517B Electrometer / High Resistance Meter

The Keithley 6517B 5½-digit Electrometer/High Resistance Meter offers accuracy and sensitivity specifications unmatched by any other meter of this type. Italso offers a variety of features that simplifies measuring high resistances and the resistivity of insulating materials. With reading rates of up to 425 readings/ second, the Model 6517B is also significantly faster than competitive electrometers, so it offers a quick, easy way to measure low-level currents. The half-rack-sized Keithley 6517B has a special low current input amplifier with an input bias current of < 3 fA with just 0.75 fA p-p (peak-to-peak) noise and < 20 µV burden voltage on the lowest range. The input impedance for voltage and resistance measurements is 200 T-ohm for near-ideal circuit loading. These specifications ensure the accuracy and sensitivity needed for accurate low current and high imped ance volt age, resistance, and charge measure ments in areas of research such as physics, optics, nanotechnology, and materials science. A built-in ±1 kV voltage source with sweep capability simplifies performing leak age, break down, and resis tance testing, as well as volume (ohm-cm) and surface resistivity (ohm/square) mea sure ments on insulating materials.

dBm
dBm (sometimes dBmW) is an abbreviation for the power ratio in decibels (dB) of the measured power referenced to one milliwatt (mW). Zero dBm equals one milliwatt. A 3 dB increase represents roughly doubling the power, a 3 dB decrease, the power is reduced by about one half.

Millimeter-wave
Millimeter-wave is a term that generally refers to frequencies of 26.5 GHz and above. That is where signal wavelengths fall below approximately 10 mm, and thus the terminology changes from centimeters to millimeters.

Power Repeatability
Power Repeatability is the random uncertainty in reproducing the power level after changing and re-setting the power level. The power repeatability is ± half the span (in dB) between the highest and lowest actual power. Note: - The long-term power repeatability can be obtained by taken the power repeatability and power stability into account.

Stability
Stability is the extent to which a specified property, characteristic, or parameter of a substance, device, or apparatus, remains fixed with the passage of time or with varying environmental conditions.
