OPTRONICS OPT-OTDR-UK Handheld OTDR

The Optronics OPT-OTDR-UK is a multimode and singlemode OTDR specifically designed for testing and trouble-shooting on enterprise, campus and access networks. The OTDR’s robust construction and long battery life make it ideal for use in the field. A single button push starts a test, making it simple to use for the beginner or expert. The result is then shown as a trace or table-ofevents in full colour, making for uncomplicated location of faults on fibre cable. By transferring the results to a USB memory stick, or directly to PC via the USB port, easy management of the results can be achieved using the free software provided. Improved fibre testing capability can be achieved by adding the optional power meter, visual fault locator and connector end-face inspection probe. This ensures that the Optronics OTDR is a truly versatile fibre optic test instrument. Features. 850/1300nm wavelengths for multimode, 1310/1550nm wavelengths for singlemode. Multimode Fiber
Multimode Fiber has a large core (almost always 62.5 microns - a micron is one one millionth of a meter - but sometimes 50 microns) and is used with LED sources at wavelengths of 850 and 1300 nm for short distance, lower speed networks like LANs. Both multimode and singlemode fiber have an outside diameter of 125 microns - about 5 thousandths of an inch - just slightly larger than a human hair.

Power Repeatability
Power Repeatability is the random uncertainty in reproducing the power level after changing and re-setting the power level. The power repeatability is ± half the span (in dB) between the highest and lowest actual power. Note: - The long-term power repeatability can be obtained by taken the power repeatability and power stability into account.
