ROHDE & SCHWARZ SMP03 (1035.5005.03)   Description / Specification:   Spec Sheet
ROHDE & SCHWARZ SMP03 27 GHz Microwave Signal Generator

The R&S SMP03 (1035.5005.03) 27 GHz Microwave Signal Generator has been designed for high output power with AM, FM and optional phase modulation. High spectral purity is ensured by the use of YIG oscillators – up to 20 GHz without any frequency multiplying. The crystal reference built-in as standard ensures an accurate and low-drift output frequency. The SMP03 has extremely low SSB phase noise of <–105 dBc/Hz at 10 GHz (10 kHz from carrier) as well as nonharmonics of <–60/54 dBc up to/above 20 GHz. Functions qualifying the SMP03 for EMC applications include the trigger facility for step-by-step sweeping, marker outputs and, above all, the extension of the frequency range to 10 MHz (option SMP-B11). Specifications. Frequency Range: 2 GHz to 27 GHz. Resolution: 0.1 Hz. Setting time (to within <1x10^–6) after IEC-/IEEE-bus delimiter: <(11 ms + 5 ms/GHz). Phase offset: adjustable in 1° steps. Harmonics f <1.8 GHz: <–30 dBc (<+3 dBm). Nonharmonics at >10 kHz from carrier f <2 GHz: <–60 dBc typ. Maximum level: >+12 dBm (10MHz to <2GHz), >+10 dBm (2 GHz to <18 GHz), >+6 dBm (18 GHz to 20 GHz), >+13 dBm (20 GHz to 27 GHz). Resolution: 0.1 dB or 0.01 dB. Output impedance: 50 ohm. Remote control: IEC625 (IEEE488). Options. SMP-B11 (1036.6240.02), Frequency Extension 0.01 GHz to 2 GHz. SMP-B12 (1036.5750.03), Pulse Modulator 2 GHz to 27 GHz. SMP-B13 (1036.7147.02), 0.01 GHz to 2 GHz. SMP-B14 (1036.7347.02), Pulse Generator. SMP-B15 (036.5250.02), RF Attenuator 27 GHz. SMP-B18 (1036.8920.02), Auxiliary Interface. SMP-B19 (1039.4303.02), Rear Connectors for RF, AF. SMP-B1 (1036.5109.02), OCXO Reference Oscillator. SM-B2 (1036.7947.02), LF Generator. SM-B5 (1036.8489.02), FM/phaseM Modulator.

Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Clipping
Clipping is the limiting of a signal so that it never exceeds some threshold.

Line Regulation
Line regulation is the capability to maintain a constant output voltage level on the output channel of a power supply despite changes to the input voltage level.

Peak Envelope Power
Peak envelope power is the maximum value of the envelope power. Envelope power is measured by making the averaging time much less than 1/fm where fm is the maximum frequency component of the modulation waveform. The averaging time is therefore limited on both ends: (1) it must be small compared to the period of the highest modulation frequency, and (2) it must be large enough to be many RF cycles long.

RMS
RMS or root mean square is a statistical measure of the magnitude of a varying quantity
