ROHDE & SCHWARZ FSH8.28 (1309.6000.28)   Description / Specification:   Spec Sheet
ROHDE & SCHWARZ FSH8.28 8 GHz Handheld Spectrum Analyzer w/PreAmp, Tracking Gen

The R&S FSH8.28 8 GHz Handheld Spectrum Analyzer with preamplifier, tracking generator and internal VSWR bridge is rugged, handy and designed for use in the field. Its low weight and large number of measurement functions make it an indispensable tool for anyone who needs an efficient measuring instrument for outdoor work. It provides the three most important RF analysis functions that an RF service technician or an installation and maintenance team needs to solve daily routine measurement tasks. The FSH8.28 can be used for maintaining or installing transmitter systems, checking cables and antennas, assessing signal quality in broadcasting, radiocommunications and service, measuring electric field strength or in simple lab applications. Specifications. Frequency range: 100 kHz to 8 GHz. Frequency resolution: 1 Hz. Frequency readout Marker resolution: 0.1 Hz. Marker resolution Uncertainty: ±(marker frequency × reference uncertainty + 10 % × resolution bandwidth + 1/2 (span/(sweep points – 1) + 1 Hz). Frequency span: 0 Hz, 10 Hz to 8 GHz. Sweep time: 200 µs to 100 s (span = 0 Hz), 20 ms to 1000 s (10 Hz <= span <= 600 MHz), 20 ms × span/600 MHz to 1000 s (span > 600 MHz). Resolution bandwidth Range: –3 dB bandwidth 1 Hz to 3 MHz in 1/3 sequence; zero span, 10 MHz, 20 MHz additionally. Display range: displayed noise floor to +30 dBm. CW RF power: 30 dBm (= 1 W). Available Gain
Available Gain is the ratio, at a specific frequency, of power available from the output to the power in from the source.

Frequency Span
Frequency Span specifies the range between the start and stop frequencies, also referred to as bandwidth

Peak Envelope Power
Peak envelope power is the maximum value of the envelope power. Envelope power is measured by making the averaging time much less than 1/fm where fm is the maximum frequency component of the modulation waveform. The averaging time is therefore limited on both ends: (1) it must be small compared to the period of the highest modulation frequency, and (2) it must be large enough to be many RF cycles long.
