LUXAR TECH LTC3030 Fiber Monitoring System

The Luxar LTC3030 Fiber Monitoring System is based on Luxar’s proprietary Correlated OTDR (COTDR) technology that can perform real time live fiber monitoring without interference with data transmission. It can provide high measurement resolution (less than 1 meter) and wide dynamic range (e.g. 100 km standard SMF) simultaneously. The compact 1U unit can support up to 8 channels of fiber monitoring systems. Specifications. Detection range: 25 Km. Link Budget: >28 dB. Resolution: Up to 1 m. Measurement Wavelength: 1625 nm. Reflector Type: SC/UPC. Reflector Passband: 160 nm to 1590 nm. Reflect band: 1620 nm to 1660 nm. Reflector Passband insertion loss: <0.7 dB. Reflectance at reflect band: > 80%. Reflector Return loss at Passband: 27 dB (typ.)

Standard Calibration $625.00 *
*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the LUXAR TECH LTC3030. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Data Rate
Data Rate is the maximum number of bits of information which can be transmitted per second, as in a data transmission link. Typically expressed as megabits per second (Mbps).

Optical Signal-to-noise Ratio (OSNR)
Optical Signal-to-noise ratio is the ratio between the signal power and the noise power in a given bandwidth. Most commonly a reference bandwidth of 0.1 nm is used. This bandwidth is independent from the modulation format, the frequency and the receiver. For instance a OSNR of 20dB/0.1nm could be given, even the signal of 40 GBit DPSK would not fit in this bandwidth. OSNR is measured with a Optical Spectrum Analyzer. It is generally measured at the wavelength of interest.

SONET
Synchronous Optical NETwork (SONET) is a fiber-optic transmission system for high-speed digital traffic. Employed by telephone companies and common carriers, speeds range from 51 Mbps to 40 Gbps. SONET is an intelligent system that provides advanced network management and a standard optical interface. Specified in the Broadband ISDN (B-ISDN) standard, SONET backbones are widely used to aggregate T1 and T3 lines. The European counterpart to SONET is the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy, and the term "SONET/SDH" is widely used when referring to SONET
