EXTECH INSTRUMENTS EX540   Description / Specification:
EXTECH INSTRUMENTS EX540 True RMS Wireless Digital Multimeter and Datalogger

The Extech EX540 is a True RMS wireless digital multimeter and datalogger offers wireless data streaming to a laptop or PC for datalogging or real-time monitoring. The EX540 transmits real-time data for monitoring, trending and analysis. In addition to wireless datalogging, the EX540 can log up to 9,999 readings internally and also reads voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, frequency (with dual-range sensitivity for electrical and electronic work), duty cycle, continuity, diode testing (2.8 volts), and even temperature (using its Type K thermistor bead probe). It features 0.06 percent accuracy that is a tough-to-beat, and a CAT IV-600-volt overvoltage safety rating, protecting users even on outdoor wiring. Several one-button data functions include minimum/maximum, relative, hold, and peak hold as well as selectable auto-ranging or manual-ranging.

Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
