   ANDO AQ6317 (AQ-6317)   Description / Specification:
ANDO AQ6317 600 to 1750 nm Optical Spectrum Analyzer

The Ando AQ6317 is an optical spectrum analyzer that permits measuring the spectrums of light sources such as LD and LED and also the loss wavelength characteristics and transmission characteristics of optical fiber cables, optical filters, etc. It's measurable wavelength range is as wide as 600 to 1750 nm; this permits optical spectrum analysis of the near infa-red ray area. The AQ6317 is provided with not only the basic performance of high resolution, high-sensitivity, high-accuracy, wide dynamic range and excellent linearity but also many functions such as three-dimensional display, various data processing function and program measuring function. As data output functions, the equipment is capable of hard-copying screens through a built-in high-speed printer, and reading/writing waveforms and programs through a built-in floppy disk. Also, the equipment is equipped with GP-IB as the standard configuration, thereby exerting full remote control.

A change in the optical frequency caused by direct modulation of the laser. A chirp is a signal in which the frequency increases ('up-chirp') or decreases ('down-chirp') with time. In some sources, the term chirp is used interchangeably with sweep signal.

The extent to which optical power from one signal path is prevented from reaching another signal path.

Polarization Extinction Ratio
Polarization Extinction Ratio is the ratio of optical power in the slow axis of the polarization maintaining fiber to optical power in the fast axis within a specified wavelength range.

Sidemode Suppression Ratio
Sidemode Suppression Ratio is the ratio of average signal power to the optical power of the highest sidemode within a distance from 0.1 to 6 GHz to the signal’s optical frequency, expressed in dB.

Wavelength Stability
Wavelength Stability is the change of wavelength during given time span, expressed as ± half the span between the maximum and the minimum of all actual wavelengths.
