   DESCO 19445   Description / Specification:
DESCO 19445 Digital Hand-Held Static Fieldmeter

The Desco 19445 is a high quality, portable non-contacting static fieldmeter which produces consistently accurate readings with ease and provides years of trouble-free operation. It indicates surface voltage and polarity on objects up to ±20 kV at a spacing of one inch with an accuracy of 5% of the displayed value. It is chopper-stabilized for use under almost any conditions including ionized environments. Also featured are a push-button auto-zero and a push-button hold function. A unique flashing LED rangefinder system provides accurate positioning of the meter from the target. Specifications. Display: 3 1/2 digits, 0.4" digit height LCD. Response: <1 sec., 10% to 90% equivalent to 5 Hz output. Range: ± 0.00 to ± 19.99 kV/inch (25mm). Accuracy: ± 5% of displayed value, ± 3 counts (LSD).

Average Power
Average power means that the energy transfer rate is to be averaged over many periods of the lowest frequency involved. For a CW signal, the lowest frequency and highest frequency are the same, so average power and power are the same. For an amplitude modulated wave, the power must be averaged over many periods of the modulation component of the signal as well.

Dynamic range
Dynamic range the ratio of a specified maximum level of a parameter, such as power, current, voltage or frequency, to the minimum detectable value of that parameter.

Modulation
Modulation is the process by which the characteristic of one wave (the carrier) is modified by another.

Repeatability
Repeatability is the variation in a number of repeated measured quantities when measurement conditions are changed and restored. The value corresponds to half the spread between the minimum and maximum value measured.
