   EXFO FOT-12AX (FOT 12AX)   Description / Specification:
EXFO FOT-12AX Handheld Optical Power Meter

The Exfo FOT-12AX Power Meter is a compact, accurate, rugged and easy-to-use instruments for both power and loss testing. It offers five calibrated wavelengths, and performs 2 kHz signal detection for fiber identification. Unit configurations are available with high power germanium detectors. An electrical offset nulling feature makes the FOT-12AX ideal for operation in extreme temperature conditions. Shockproof holster also acts as storage compartment for fiberoptic adapters and replacement battery. Specifications. Detector type: GeX (2 mm). Standard calibrated wavelengths: 780, 850, 1300, 1310, 1550 nm. Measurement range: 21 to -50 dBm. Resolution: 0.05 dB (Resolution and uncertainty are functions of detected power levels. Values supplied are for a -35 dBm power level.) Uncertainty: ± 5 %. Power measurements in dBm.

Standard Calibration $115.00 *

Bit Error Ratio (BER)
Bit Error Ratio (BER) is the ratio of errors caused by the number of bits in a data stream that have been altered due to noise, interference, distoriton or bit synchronization errors.

Flatness
Variation of insertion loss on the passband of an optical device.

Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL)
Polarization Dependent Loss is the difference between the maximum and minimum values of loss due to the variation of the polarization states of light propagating through a device. PDL is expressed in decibels. Calculated by; PDL = 10 log10 (Ep/Es), where EP and ES are the measured diffraction efficiencies for P- and S-plane polarized incident light, respectively.

Return Loss (RL)
Return Loss (RL) is the ratio of the incident power to the reflected power expressed in dB. RL = 10log (Pin/Pback)

Wavelength Resolution
Wavelength Resolution is the smallest possible displayed wavelength increment/decrement.
