   FLUKE 87   Description / Specification:
FLUKE 87 Handheld True RMS Digital Multimeter

The Fluke 87 4000-count DMM provides 11 functions for electronic and industrial applications, including high performance dc/ac voltage and current measurement, frequency, duty cycle, resistance, conductance, and capacitance measurement. It is EMI shielded and comes with a splash-proof and dust-proof case. A protective holster enables safe use under harsh operating conditions. Features. Min/Max/Average recording mode with Min/Max AlertTM; stores the highest, lowest and 36-hour average of all readings, allowing signal monitoring for seconds or days. Min/Max Alert gives an audible tone for readings above or below previous minimums or maximums. Frequency, duty cycle and capacitance measurements. 1000V rms input protection; Input Alert provides an audible warning if the test leads are in current, but the function switch is not. This reduces the risk of damage to the equipment being tested and to the meter. Provides 1000 volt rms input protection in both ohms and diode test. 3%-digit, 4000 count display updates 4 times per second, analog display updates 40 times per second. 4.5-digit mode, 19 999 counts and True-rms ac voltage and current. Ranges. VDC: 400 mV - 1000V. VAC: 400 mV - 1000V. ADC 400 uA - 10 A. AAC: 400 uA - 10 A. Resistance: 400 ohm - 40 M-ohm. Conductance: 40 nS. Capacitance: 5 nF- 5 uF. Frequency: 199.9 Hz -199.9 kHz.

*This is a Web introductory price for one calibration of the FLUKE 87. Price does not in most cases include measurement performance data. Pricing does include NIST traceable calibration and issue of a calibration certificate and calibration label. Pricing may vary slightly due to volume and location of laboratory supporting calibration. Volume pricing may apply. On-site fees may apply depending on logistics, location and volume of work to be completed during the visit.

Crest Factor
Crest factor or peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is a measurement of a waveform, calculated from the peak amplitude of the waveform divided by the RMS value of the waveform

Linearity
Linearity is the relative difference between the displayed power ratio, Dx/D0, and the actual (true) power ratio Px/P0 caused by changing the displayed power level from the reference level, D0, to an arbitrary displayed level, Dx.

Phase Noise
Phase noise is the frequency domain representation of rapid, short-term, random fluctuations in the phase of a waveform, caused by time domain instabilities. Phase noise (L(f)) is typically expressed in units of dBc/Hz, representing the noise power relative to the carrier contained in a 1 Hz bandwidth centered at a certain offsets from the carrier.

Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the minimum magnitude of input signal required to produce a specified output signal having a specified signal-to-noise ratio, or other specified criteria.
