The Advantest D3186 12 G-bps pulse pattern generator is provided with powerful evaluation and analysis functions including the mixed SDH pattern generation function to generate SDH/SONET frames virtually identical with real data, the burst data (noncontinuous data) output function and the pattern memory with 8-Mbit capacity, allowing output of all types of frame patterns. Generation of SDH/SONET Frames Virtually Identical with Real Data. As the third pattern following PRES and WORD patterns, WORD patterns are mounted on the SDH frame header and patterns into which arbitrary PRBS patterns are auto-inserted are mounted on the payload section for the first time. This allows evaluation of SDH/SONET frames under virtually real conditions. The D3186 generates up to six STM-64 frames (in the WORD pattern and mixed SDH pattern modes). With ATM transmission, non-continuous data are transmitted and therefore the function to generate as long memory patterns as possible is required in evaluation using memory patterns. The D3186 outputs 12 different signals, providing comfortable measurement environment. Specifications. External clock input Frequency range: 150 MHz to 12.0 GHz.
