Keysight (Agilent) 81628B   Description / Specification:   Spec Sheet
Keysight (Agilent) 81628B 800 to 1700 nm InGaAs Optical Head

Optical head. Wavelength Range: 800 nm to 1700 nm. Power Range: +40 dBm to -60 dBm(800 nm to 1700 nm), operation above 38 dBm is at the operators own risk, damage power 40.5 dBm. Uncertainty at reference conditions: ±3.0% (970 nm to 1630 nm). Linearity (power) at 23°C ±5°C: CW +38 dBm to -40 dBm (970 nm to 1630 nm); = 10 dBm, = ± 0.03 dB; >10 dBm to =20 dBm, = ± 0.06 dB; >20 dBm to =37 dBm, = ± 0.09 dB; >37 dBm to =38 dBm, = ± 0.10 dB. Return loss: typically > 75 dB. Noise (peak to peak): < 5 nW. Power Sensor Type: InGaAs. Applicable fiber type: Single mode NA = 0.2, Multimode NA = 0.4. Have to be operated with the single (Agilent 81618A) or dual (Agilent 81619A) Interface Modules.

Bit Error Ratio (BER)
Bit Error Ratio (BER) is the ratio of errors caused by the number of bits in a data stream that have been altered due to noise, interference, distoriton or bit synchronization errors.

Flatness
Variation of insertion loss on the passband of an optical device.

Polarization Dependent Loss (PDL)
Polarization Dependent Loss is the difference between the maximum and minimum values of loss due to the variation of the polarization states of light propagating through a device. PDL is expressed in decibels. Calculated by; PDL = 10 log10 (Ep/Es), where EP and ES are the measured diffraction efficiencies for P- and S-plane polarized incident light, respectively.

Return Loss (RL)
Return Loss (RL) is the ratio of the incident power to the reflected power expressed in dB. RL = 10log (Pin/Pback)

Wavelength Resolution
Wavelength Resolution is the smallest possible displayed wavelength increment/decrement.
