Keysight (Agilent) 86100D Infinium DCA-X Wide-Bandwidth Oscilloscope

The Keysight 86100D DCA-X performs precision measurements on high-speed digital designs from 50Mb/s to more than 80 Gb/s on up to 16 channels simultaneously. Applications include:
Optical - Transceiver Design and Manufacturing.
Electrical - ASIC/FPGA/IC Design and characterization.
TDR/TDT/S-Parameter - Serial Bus Designs, Cables, and PCB characterization.
The DCA-X provides powerful analysis capability that is enabled through licensed software options.
Mainframe specifications.

Horizontal system (time base).
Scale factor (full scale is ten divisions): 2 ps/div (with 86107A or 86100D-PTB: 500 fs/div) min, 1 ps/div max.
Delays: 24 ns min, 1000 screen diameters or 10 s whichever is smaller max.
Time interval accuracy: 1 ps + 1.0% of delta time reading or 8 ps, whichever is smaller.
Jitter mode operation: Time interval accuracy - jitter mode operation 1 ps.
Time interval resolution: ≤ (screen diameter)/(record length) or 62.5 fs, whichever is larger.
Display units: Bits or time (TDR mode-meters).

Vertical system (channels).
Number of channels: 16 (simultaneous acquisition).
Vertical resolution 54xxx, 83xxx, 86xxx: 14 bit A/D converter (16 or more bits with averaging).
Record length Legacy UI: 16 to 16K samples, FlexDCA without pattern lock: 16 to 64K samples, FlexDCA with pattern lock: 16 up to 32M samples.

Trigger modes.
Internal trigger: Free run.
External direct trigger: DC to 100 MHz (Limited bandwidth), DC to 3.2 GHz (Full bandwidth).

Jitter.
Characteristic: < 1.0 ps RMS + 5*10E-5 of delay setting.
Maximum: 1.5 ps RMS + 5*10E-5 of delay setting.

Trigger.
Sensitivity: 200 mVpp (sinusoidal input or 200 ps minimum pulse width).
200 mVpp sinusoidal input: 50 MHz to 13 GHz, (to 32 GHz with option PTB)
Trigger configuration Trigger level adjustment: -1 V to + 1 V.
Edge select: Positive or negative.
Hysteresis: Normal or High sensitivity.

Data Rate
Data Rate is the maximum number of bits of information which can be transmitted per second, as in a data transmission link. Typically expressed as megabits per second (Mbps).

Optical Signal-to-noise Ratio (OSNR)
Optical Signal-to-noise ratio is the ratio between the signal power and the noise power in a given bandwidth. Most commonly a reference bandwidth of 0.1 nm is used. This bandwidth is independent from the modulation format, the frequency and the receiver. For instance a OSNR of 20dB/0.1nm could be given, even the signal of 40 GBit DPSK would not fit in this bandwidth. OSNR is measured with a Optical Spectrum Analyzer. It is generally measured at the wavelength of interest.

Synchronous Optical NETwork (SONET) is a fiber-optic transmission system for high-speed digital traffic. Employed by telephone companies and common carriers, speeds range from 51 Mbps to 40 Gbps. SONET is an intelligent system that provides advanced network management and a standard optical interface. Specified in the Broadband ISDN (B-ISDN) standard, SONET backbones are widely used to aggregate T1 and T3 lines. The European counterpart to SONET is the Synchronous Digital Hierarchy, and the term "SONET/SDH" is widely used when referring to SONET
