Keysight (Agilent) N5182B   Description / Specification:   Spec Sheet
Keysight (Agilent) N5182B 3/6 GHz MXG X-Series Vector Signal Generator

The Agilent N5182B MXG X-Series Vector Signal Generator is used to test radar receiver sensitivity, characterize ADC or mixer SNR, or find receiver out-of-band rejection capability. You’ll get excellent results with industry-leading phase noise of –146 dBm at 1 GHz and spurious performance of –96 dBc at 1 GHz. With EVM of less than 0.4 percent (802.11ac and LTE) and factory-equalized 160 MHz RF bandwidth with flatness of less than ± 0.2 dB, the MXG enables testing and characterization of multicarrier power amplifiers or wideband receivers and components, such as those used in 802.11ac WLAN designs. Specifications. Frequency Range: 9 kHz (5 MHz IQ mode) to 3 GHz (Option 503), 9 kHz (5 MHz IQ mode) to 6 GHz (Option 506). Resolution: 0.001 Hz. Phase offset: Adjustable in nominal 0.1 ° increments. Output Settable range: +30 to –144 dBm. Resolution: 0.01 dB. Step attenuator: 0 to 130 dB in 5 dB steps electronic type. Connector: Type N 50 ohm, nominal. Phase noise @ 1 GHz, 20 kHz offset: –146 dBc/Hz. Spurious @ 1 GHz: –96 dBc. Output power @ 1 GHz: +27 dBm. ACPR W-CDMA 64 DPCH (vector): –73 dBc. EVM 802.11ac/LTE (vector): 0.4 percent. Bandwidth (vector): 160 MHz. Arbitrary waveform memory (vector): 1024 MSa. Interfaces: GPIB IEEE-488.2, 1987 with listen and talk, LAN 1000BaseT LAN interface, LXI class C compliant, USB Version 2.0. Options. 503 - 9 kHz to 3 GHz. 506 - 9 kHz to 6 GHz. 006 - Instrument security and removable memory card. 1EA - High output power. 656 - ARB baseband generator (80 MHz RF bandwidth, 64 Msa). 657 - Upgrade baseband generator to 160 MHz RF bandwidth. 660 - Upgrade baseband generator with real-time capability. UNT - AM, FM, phase modulation. UNV - Enhanced dynamic range. UNW - Narrow pulse modulation. UNX - Low phase noise. UNY - Enhanced low phase noise. UNZ - Fast switching.

dBm
dBm (sometimes dBmW) is an abbreviation for the power ratio in decibels (dB) of the measured power referenced to one milliwatt (mW). Zero dBm equals one milliwatt. A 3 dB increase represents roughly doubling the power, a 3 dB decrease, the power is reduced by about one half.

Millimeter-wave
Millimeter-wave is a term that generally refers to frequencies of 26.5 GHz and above. That is where signal wavelengths fall below approximately 10 mm, and thus the terminology changes from centimeters to millimeters.

Power Repeatability
Power Repeatability is the random uncertainty in reproducing the power level after changing and re-setting the power level. The power repeatability is ± half the span (in dB) between the highest and lowest actual power. Note: - The long-term power repeatability can be obtained by taken the power repeatability and power stability into account.

Stability
Stability is the extent to which a specified property, characteristic, or parameter of a substance, device, or apparatus, remains fixed with the passage of time or with varying environmental conditions.
