Keysight (Agilent) 346C 26.5 GHz Broadband Noise Source

The Agilent 346C broadband noise source eliminates the necessity for several sources at different frequency bands. The 346C noise source has individually calibrated ENR values at specific frequencies. The 346C covers the broadest frequency range 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz. Specifications. Frequency Range: 10 MHz to 26.5 GHz. Excess Noise Ratio (ENR) Limits: 12 to 16 dB (10MHz to 12GHz) and14 to 17 dB (12.0 to 26.5GHz). Maximum SWR (reflection coefficient) on and off: 10MHz to 18GHz – 1.25 (0.11); 18 to 26.5GHz – 1.35 (0.15). Options. Opt K01 Noise Source (This coaxial noise source features coverage from 1 to 50 GHz with the 2.4 mm coaxial connector.)

Available Gain
Available Gain is the ratio, at a specific frequency, of power available from the output to the power in from the source.

Decibel (dB)
A unit of measurement of power which indicates relative power. A -10 dB means a reduction in power by 10 times, -20 dB means another 10 times or 100 times overall, -30 means another 10 times or 1000 times overall and so on.

Mismatch Uncertainty
Mismatch Uncertainty is caused by re-reflections between one device (the source) and the device that follows it (the load).

Pulse Power
Pulse Power, the energy transfer rate is averaged over the pulse width. Pulse width is considered to be the time between the 50 percent risetime/falltime amplitude points. Pulse power averages out any aberrations in the pulse envelope such as overshoot or ringing.
