Keysight (Agilent) 37900D Signaling Test Set

The HP 37900D signaling test set makes it easy to investigate signaling system No.7 interactions. An applications-oriented user interface sets up the instrument to troubleshoot and resolve signaling problems, ensure network conformance and compatibility, and verify SS No.7 - ISDN interactions. The HP 37900D monitors up to four bidirectional signaling links simultaneously. When analyzing in-service performance, it provides dedicated real-time decode displays that show signaling transactions as they happen. It also uses dedicated triggers, filters, and traces to collect relevant test data for in-depth post-logging analysis. An optional emulate capability allows the it to perform conformance, compatibility, and regression or acceptance tests. It performs single tests or an automatic sequence of tests on up to eight signaling links simultaneously. A number of pre-programmed, ready-to-run tests are available. The tests include real-time decode displays, message sequence traces, or statistics. Applications software available includes GSM monitor, IS.41 MAP analysis, Japan TICSS No.7, ITU-TQ.791 statistics, ITU-T MTP conformance tests, ISDN basic and primary rate analysis.

Bit Error Ratio (BER)
Bit Error Ratio (BER) is the ratio of errors caused by the number of bits in a data stream that have been altered due to noise, interference, distoriton or bit synchronization errors.

Multiplexing
Multiplexing (also known as muxing) is a method by which multiple analog message signals or digital data streams are combined into one signal over a shared medium. Multiplexing divides the capacity of the low-level communication channel into several higher-level logical channels, one for each message signal or data stream to be transferred.

Sensitivity
Sensitivity is the minimum magnitude of input signal required to produce a specified output signal having a specified signal-to-noise ratio, or other specified criteria.
