Keysight (Agilent) 5343A   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) 5343A 26.5 GHz CW Microwave Frequency Counter

The HP 5343A is a Microwave Counter that provides Automatic Frequency Measurement up to 26.5 GHz in highly portable packages. The powerful and versatile microprocessor controlled keyboards can accomplish offset tasks as a standard feature as well as providing user interactive diagnostic information. The eleven-digit display is sectionalized for easy readout to one hertz resolution. The 5343A utilizes the Harmonic Heterodyne down conversion technique which combines the best performance features of the Heterodyne Converter and Transfer Oscillator Techniques. Now Wide FM Tolerance is achievable along with high input sensitivity and automatic amplitude discrimination. This allows the counter to automatically measure the largest signal present within the counters spectrum while ignoring all others.

Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Fall Time
Fall time is the time required for the amplitude of a pulse to decrease (fall) from a specified value (usually 90 percent of the peak value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot) to another specified value (usually 10 percent of the maximum value exclusive of overshoot or undershoot).

Noise Density
Noise Density is the amount of noise within a defined bandwidth, usually normalized to 1 Hz.

Resolution Bandwidth (RBW)
Resolution Bandwidth (RBW) is the minimum bandwidth over which you can separate two signals and still see them.
