Keysight (Agilent) 81542MM 1300 nm LED Source Module

The Agilent 81542MM 1310 nm LED Source Module, for use with 8153A Lightwave Multimeter. Source Module Specifications (All specifications are valid for an attenuation setting of 0.0 dB). Type: LED. Central Wavelength (Central wavelength is shown on the display): 1300 ±40 nm. Fiber Type: MM 50/125 um. Spectral Bandwidth (FWHM = Full Width Half Maximum; rms = root mean square): <90 nm FWHM. Output Power: >-20 dBm. CW Stability Short-term (15 min. T =Constant): ±0.002 dB. CW Stability Long-term (6 hours. T =Constant): ±0.01 dB. Internal Digital Modulation Mode 270 Hz, 1 kHz, 2 kHz, selectable. All output signals are pulse-shaped. Duty cycle 50%. Output Attenuation: The output power of the source module can be attenuated from 0 to 6 dB.

Chirp
A change in the optical frequency caused by direct modulation of the laser. A chirp is a signal in which the frequency increases ('up-chirp') or decreases ('down-chirp') with time. In some sources, the term chirp is used interchangeably with sweep signal.

Sidemode Suppression Ratio is the ratio of average signal power to the optical power of the highest sidemode within a distance from 0.1 to 6 GHz to the signal’s optical frequency, expressed in dB.

Wavelength Stability
Wavelength Stability is the change of wavelength during given time span, expressed as ± half the span between the maximum and the minimum of all actual wavelengths.
