Keysight (Agilent) 81662A DFB Laser Source Module

The Agilent 81662A Distributed Feedback (DFB) Laser Source module provides +10dBm output power to overcome the power penalties given in todays test setups. It's excellent stability in power and wavelength is key for accurate testing of any kind of optical amplifiers, such as EDFA, TDFA, semiconductor and Raman amplifiers. Specifications. Maximum output: Typical > +10 dBm (10 mW). CW stability (24 hours): Typical ±0.03 dB. Wavelength (original model): ITU Grid (100 GHz) ie: 1,529.55 nm (opt. 309); 1,610.06 nm (opt. 505) or Center wavelength: (opt. 131) 1310 nm ± 5 nm, (opt. 149) 1490 nm ± 3 nm, (opt. 151) 1510 nm ± 3 nm, (opt. 155) 1550 nm ± 3 nm, (opt. 162) 1625 nm ± 3 nm. Chirp
A change in the optical frequency caused by direct modulation of the laser. A chirp is a signal in which the frequency increases ('up-chirp') or decreases ('down-chirp') with time. In some sources, the term chirp is used interchangeably with sweep signal.

The extent to which optical power from one signal path is prevented from reaching another signal path.

Polarization Extinction Ratio is the ratio of optical power in the slow axis of the polarization maintaining fiber to optical power in the fast axis within a specified wavelength range.

Sidemode Suppression Ratio
Sidemode Suppression Ratio is the ratio of average signal power to the optical power of the highest sidemode within a distance from 0.1 to 6 GHz to the signal’s optical frequency, expressed in dB.

Wavelength Stability
Wavelength Stability is the change of wavelength during given time span, expressed as ± half the span between the maximum and the minimum of all actual wavelengths.
