Keysight (Agilent) 8719C   Description / Specification:
Keysight (Agilent) 8719C 13.5 GHz Vector Network Analyzer

The HP 8719C 50 MHz to 13.5 GHz, Microwave Network Analyzer, Includes a fast-sweeping synthesized source with optional 1 Hz frequency resolution, integrated switching test set measures all four S-parameters with a single connection, tuned reciever, and large color display in a single package. Vector accuracy enhancement, and optional time domain capability computes and displays response versus time or distance, optional solid state switch allows simultaneous measurement of forward and reverse parameters and continuous update for all four s-parameters as required for two-part error correction. Productivity is enhanced with pass/fail testing, direct printer/plotter output of results, advanced marker functions, and save/recall of test configs. Two independent display channels for simultaneous measurement of reflection and transmission characteristics. Specifications. Minimum frequency: 50 MHz. Maximum frequency: 13.5 GHz. Frequency resolution (std): 100 kHz. Frequency accuracy: 10 ppm. Maximum power: +10 dBm. Minimum power: -65 dBm. Power resolution: 0.1 dB. Power flatness: ±2.0 dB. Power sweep range: 20 dB. Receiver sensitivity (> 2 GHz): -93 dBm. System dynamic range (> 2 GHz): 103 dB. Measurement Rate (typical, 201-point sweep): <2 ms/point (1-port) to < 5 ms/point (full 2-port). Options: Opt 001 1 Hz Frequency Resolution. Opt 010 Time Domain Capability. Opt 011 Direct-Access Receiver Configuration. Opt 802 Add HP 9122C Dual Disk Drive. Averaging
Averaging is a mathematical process to reduce the variation in a measurement by summing the data points from multiple measurements and dividing by the number of points summed.

Jitter
Jitter in technical terms is the deviation in or displacement of some aspect of the pulses in a high-frequency digital signal. Jitter is the time variation of a periodic signal in electronics and telecommunications, often in relation to a reference clock source. Jitter may be observed in characteristics such as the frequency of successive pulses, the signal amplitude, or phase of periodic signals. Jitter is a significant, and usually undesired, factor in the design of almost all communications links (e.g., USB, PCI-e, SATA, OC-48). In clock recovery applications it is called timing jitter.

Pulse Power
Pulse Power, the energy transfer rate is averaged over the pulse width. Pulse width is considered to be the time between the 50 percent risetime/falltime amplitude points. Pulse power averages out any aberrations in the pulse envelope such as overshoot or ringing.
